Recruiting/Human Resources Consultant Job Responsibilities:
- Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Design and update job descriptions, screen incoming resumes and application forms, interview candidates (via phone, video and in-person)
- Provide qualified candidates to hiring managers
- Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits
- Participate in job fairs
- Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
- Performing reference and background checks
- Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Informs employees of benefits.
- Following up on the interview process status
- Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
- Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs
- Experience with the human resources information system (HRIS)
- Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
- Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
- Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning
- 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles, 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations, 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role and PHR/SPHR certification preferred
