Recruiting/Human Resources Consultant

Recruiting/Human Resources Consultant Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Design and update job descriptions, screen incoming resumes and application forms, interview candidates (via phone, video and in-person)
  • Provide qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits
  • Participate in job fairs
  • Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Performing reference and background checks
  • Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Informs employees of benefits.
  • Following up on the interview process status
  • Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs
  • Experience with the human resources information system (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
  • Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles, 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations, 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role and PHR/SPHR certification preferred
